New Independent Bookshop The Forth Coming to Gosforth

Gosforth is getting a proper independent bookshop. The Forth, a new shop from the team behind the award-winning Forum Books in Corbridge, is coming to Gosforth Central, with work on the fit-out already underway. It is a welcome addition to a High Street that has always leaned towards the independent, and a good sign for anyone who would rather browse shelves in person than click "add to basket".

Who is behind it

The Forth is the fourth shop from a group that has built a strong following across the North East. Forum Books has traded from a converted chapel in Corbridge for years, and the same team is behind the bound in Whitley Bay and The Accidental Bookshop in Alnwick. They have earned a reputation for a carefully curated range, a warm and browsable feel, and a busy programme of author events, so a Gosforth shop arrives with real pedigree rather than as an untested newcomer.

As reported by High Life North, the new shop "promises a hand-picked, eye-popping range of beautiful books for all ages and tastes, with the same warm, browsable feel that's made its sister shops local favourites."
