Greggs
The UK's largest bakery chain — and the High Street where it all began. Sausage rolls, steak bakes, sandwiches, and coffee on the go.
About Greggs
There's a Greggs on almost every High Street in Britain, but Gosforth's has a special claim — the very first Greggs shop opened on this High Street in 1951, when John Gregg bought a shop for £7,750 to expand his delivery rounds into retail. That single shop became a 2,500-outlet empire. The current branch isn't in the original premises, but it's still on the same street where it all started. Sausage rolls, steak bakes, sandwiches, and coffee — you know what you're getting.
