About Richard Bird Funeral Services

Richard Bird Funeral Services, on Great North Road in Gosforth, offers memorials and headstones alongside its funeral work, and is listed on the British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM), the accreditation scheme that sets standards of workmanship and fixing safety for memorial masons working in cemeteries and churchyards. Its Gosforth base makes it a genuinely local option for families in the area.

There is no need to rush a memorial, many families wait several months, particularly for a new grave, so the ground can settle. When you are ready, the firm can advise on styles, materials and cemetery regulations for a new headstone, and can also add an inscription to, clean or restore an existing memorial. Memorial work in Newcastle's cemeteries must be carried out by a mason on the city council's approved register.
