The Bake One
Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine on the High Street. Generous mezze platters, grilled meats, hummus, and fresh pittas.
About The Bake One
The Bake One at 215-217 High Street offers Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine that makes a welcome alternative to the Italian and Indian options dominating most suburban high streets. The menu centres on generous mezze platters piled with hummus, tabbouleh, and baba ganoush, alongside succulent chicken wraps, flavourful kebabs, and grilled meats, all served with warm fresh pitta; the baklava is a genuine highlight for those with a sweet tooth. Portions are generous and sharing is encouraged. A bring-your-own-alcohol policy for dine-in customers keeps a night out pleasantly affordable, and collection and delivery run throughout opening hours. There is also a branch in Eldon Square in Newcastle city centre, though the Gosforth original remains the flagship. Reservations are recommended during busy periods.
