About This Event

Now in its third year, Aelius Alternative is a multi-venue festival championing grassroots musicians from their very first steps into the live scene. The festival spans The Globe, Head of Steam, and Mosaic Tap in Newcastle city centre, running from 2pm to 11pm. Over the past two years, Aelius Alternative has supported more than 160 creatives, worked with over 35 partners, and helped celebrate six grassroots music venues. For 2026 they are partnering with Tonic Music for Mental Health, local music academy NAME, Scottish gig swap platform Off Axis, and Night Owl Promotions. Early bird tickets are available via Fatsoma.
