About This Event

Celebrate National Dragonfly Week with a guided walk around Gosforth Nature Reserve's ponds and wetland areas, led by entomologist Neha Mujumdar. The reserve's diverse habitats support several dragonfly and damselfly species including Common Darter, Southern Hawker, and Azure Damselfly. Learn to identify species by flight pattern, colouring, and perching behaviour. Early July is peak emergence time for many species, making this one of the best times of year to see them. Binoculars useful for observation; wellies recommended for the pond-side paths.
