Durham Cricket turns the Riverside over to fireworks each November, and the setting is what makes it — the ground sits in the bend of the River Wear with Lumley Castle floodlit on the hill behind, so the display has a backdrop most venues cannot match.\n\nThe fireworks go up at 7.30pm. The club has not published a gates time for 2026, but the car parks are stewarded from 4pm, so there is no need to arrive at the last minute. Parking is a separate ticket at seven pounds a vehicle, and that includes Blue Badge spaces.\n\nTickets are sold through the club's own box office and the family package is the cheaper route for two adults and two children. The premium suite tickets, which put you indoors with a view over the ground, sell out early — both suites were already gone by late September.
