About This Event

Near Earth Objects is a four-week workshop series exploring spontaneous music-making, DIY field recording and collaborative soundscapes, led by music therapist and facilitator Chris Minnis at Gosforth Civic Theatre. Across four Monday-morning sessions the group works through structured improvisation, listening exercises and playful musical games, gradually building a collective sound piece — with no specific musical or artistic experience required, just a willingness to join in with the group. The series runs on consecutive Mondays — 2, 9, 16 and 23 November — from 10am to 11.30am, with the single £60 ticket covering all four workshops (individual sessions aren't sold, as each week builds on the last). The sound piece the group creates together debuts at the Freedom Moving celebration. It's aimed at adults curious about improvisation and creative exploration, in a supportive, community-minded setting a short walk from Gosforth High Street.
