About This Event

The People's Emergency Briefing is a 50-minute film in which nine of the UK's leading scientists and experts explain the climate and nature crisis in clear, accessible language. It is based on the National Emergency Briefing delivered to more than 1,200 politicians and civic leaders at Westminster — coverage of which appeared on ITV and Channel 4 and in The Times — and has since been shown at over 1,600 community screenings across the country. This free screening at Sacred Heart Church Hall in North Gosforth is designed to inform rather than alarm, setting out credible and positive responses alongside the evidence. It is a chance for neighbours to hear the same briefing given to decision-makers and to discuss together what it means locally. Recommended for audiences aged 16 and over. Entry is free but places should be booked in advance via the National Emergency Briefing website.
