Time Odyssey: A Family Adventure at the Great North Museum

Created by Art Explora and the British Museum, Time Odyssey is an interactive family adventure played on a tablet using augmented-reality technology. Families help four characters lost in time, from a Roman centurion to an Ancient Egyptian tomb painter, find their way home by completing challenges around the galleries. Children under eight will need some adult support. The October half-term date is Thursday 29 October 2026, with timed collection slots from 10.15am and the activity running to about 2.30pm. It is free but booking is essential, making it a strong free family pick for the Halloween half-term week.
