A specialist guided walk into Harthope Valley in the Cheviot Hills, searching for upland bumblebee species that thrive in the bilberry-rich moorland. Led by entomologists Charlotte Rankin and Louise Hislop, you'll learn identification techniques for species like the Bilberry Bumblebee and Mountain Bumblebee that are rare in lowland areas. The walk follows hill paths through one of Northumberland's most scenic valleys. Moderate fitness required — expect uneven terrain and some uphill walking. Bring packed lunch, waterproofs, and sturdy boots. A wonderful day out combining natural history with stunning Cheviot scenery.
