About This Event

The Natural History Society of Northumbria runs this informal guided dusk walk around the reedbeds and ponds of Gosforth Nature Reserve, led by NHSN naturalist Matthew Harrison. Likely sightings include bittern, otter, water rail, kingfisher, Cetti's warbler and snipe, and a limited number of thermal imaging cameras are provided (bring your own if you have one). The flat, circular route of one to two miles starts and ends at the reserve entrance and mixes boardwalk, compacted gravel and uneven woodland paths that can be slippery after rain. It runs from 5pm to about 6:30pm, is suitable for beginners and enthusiasts, and must be booked in advance through Eventbrite.
