Gosforth Palace

Gosforth Palace at 6A Salters Road is the standout — a full sit-down Cantonese restaurant in the beautiful old Globe Cinema building (opened 1910, closed as a cinema in 1961, later a bingo hall). The dining room is spacious and atmospheric, with a licensed bar and private room.

The menu covers the Cantonese classics done well — dim sum, duck and pancakes (served on a duck-shaped dish), chicken satay, Szechuan beef, and set banquet menus. A Note on Thai

There is currently no dedicated Thai restaurant in Gosforth. The nearest Thai options (Nadon Thai, Chaophraya) are in central Newcastle, a short Metro ride away. Wokify Express offers some Thai-adjacent dishes within its pan-Asian menu, but it's primarily Chinese.
