Some restaurants earn their reputation through hype. Branches on Osborne Road in Jesmond has done it the harder way — through consistent quality, genuine attention to sourcing, and a dining room that makes every visit feel like an occasion.

The setting

Spread over two picturesque floors, Branches is instantly recognisable for its famous blossom tree installation and alluring focal booths. The interior is elegant without being stuffy — equally suited to a romantic dinner, a birthday celebration, or an important business meal. It is, frankly, one of the most photogenic dining rooms in Newcastle.

The food

The kitchen sources the freshest local produce direct from nearby suppliers, farms, and markets, with menus changing regularly to showcase the best seasonal ingredients. The approach is contemporary British with global influences — refined but not pretentious, and consistently well-executed.

Recognition

Branches has won TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice award for multiple consecutive years and consistently appears in Newcastle's top ten restaurants. The restaurant is also a 2025/26 Good Food Award winner with Blue Ribbon status — a mark of genuine distinction.
