The Steelers Play Steely Dan
Friday 20 June at Gosforth. Kick off the weekend without leaving the neighbourhood. The Steelers bring the sophisticated jazz-rock of Steely Dan to Gosforth with a full live set covering the classics. A great way to start a long weekend.
The Hoppings 2026
From Friday 20 June at Town Moor. The biggest travelling funfair in Europe returns to the Town Moor, practically on Gosforth's doorstep. White-knuckle rides, traditional fairground attractions, food stalls, and a buzzing atmosphere that draws hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. If you only do one thing this weekend, make it this.
Blyth Live 2026
Saturday 21 June at Blyth Beach. FREE. A full day of live music on the Northumberland coast with a line-up spanning indie, rock, and dance. A fantastic free festival right on the beach — well worth the trip up the coast.
Jesmond Food Market
Saturday 21 June at Jesmond. Browse artisan producers, street food traders, and local suppliers at one of Newcastle's best neighbourhood markets. Just a short walk or bus ride from Gosforth.
Tynemouth Station Market
Saturday and Sunday at Tynemouth Station. FREE entry. The ever-popular weekend market returns under the Victorian canopy with handmade crafts, vintage finds, street food, and live music. A short Metro ride from Gosforth.
Peppa Pig's Big Family Show
Friday 20 June at Theatre Royal, Newcastle. A perfect treat for younger children. Peppa and friends come to life on stage with songs, games, and plenty of muddy puddles. Ideal for a family Friday outing or a Father's Day weekend warm-up.
The Godfather + Gentleman's Afternoon Tea
Sunday 22 June at Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle. Treat Dad to an offer he cannot refuse — a screening of The Godfather paired with a gentleman's afternoon tea at the Tyneside Cinema. Sandwiches, cakes, a glass of fizz, and one of the greatest films ever made. A Father's Day to remember.
