About Barca
Barca Art Bar is one of Gosforth High Street's most characterful spots, instantly recognisable by its hand-painted facade of pink, magenta and electric-blue shapes. The mood inside is warm and laid-back rather than polished — a relaxed place for cocktails, which are a real strength, alongside a well-chosen wine list. The kitchen keeps things broad and crowd-pleasing: a tapas menu of small plates (any three for £15.99, or the Get Tipsy with Tapas deal with a bottle of house wine for £34.50 every Wednesday and Thursday), gourmet burgers such as Barca's bashed burger and The Mexican, and Sunday roasts with 20-hour sous-vide silverside of beef from £14.95. Round the back is a generous beer garden with picnic tables, parasols and a mural wall — family- and dog-friendly and lovely on a warm afternoon. Booking is recommended at weekends.
