Bobiks is an intimate 60-seat venue set in a restored 150-year-old ballroom above The Punch Bowl Hotel at 125 Jesmond Road (NE2 1JY), an easy ten-minute journey from Gosforth. The first-floor ballroom lay disused for years before a 2019 refurbishment that kept its original charm, including high ceilings and period details, while adding a proper stage, automatic curtains, and a cinema screen, creating a space that feels both historic and contemporary. Throughout the week it transforms from an intimate music space to a comedy club to a cinema, with eclectic, adventurous programming spanning folk, jazz, indie, and acoustic live music, stand-up comedy from emerging and established performers, film screenings, art exhibitions, and creative workshops. There is a 16+ age restriction (under-18s must be accompanied by an adult) and a standard 11pm noise curfew. With capacity of just 60, booking ahead is recommended for popular events.
