About North Shields Skatepark (The Parks)
North Shields Skatepark, also known as The Parks, is a large concrete skatepark off Howdon Road beside The Parks Sports Centre. It was designed and built by Gravity Skateparks and opened in 2010. The park mixes street and transition features, combining a bowl and transition area with built-in street elements. Quarter pipes and flatbanks provide airs and speed, while a funbox with ledges and rails gives street skaters more technical terrain. It is free to use with open public access, and suits skateboarders, BMX and scooter riders across a range of abilities.
