Pizza Dough Co at the Three Mile on Great North Road is a bold New York-style pizza restaurant with 12-inch artisan bases fired at 400 degrees. The dough is double-fermented for 20 hours before toppings are added fresh, then cooked in a wood-fired oven — the result is a charred crust with proper chew and bold flavours. The menu goes beyond the classics, with creative options alongside traditional favourites. The Feed the Family deal — two regular pizzas, two kids' pizzas, and four soft drinks for £25 (Monday-Thursday from 4pm) — is outstanding value, and kids eat for £1 during school holidays. There's also a soft play area (The Playhouse) and a solid cocktail menu.
