About The HUT on the Green

In the heart of Gosforth Central Park, a former Ladies Bowling Pavilion has been beautifully restored into The HUT on the Green, a creative space dedicated to art, craft, horticulture and community. It is run by Mushroom Works CIC, a community interest company, under a ten-year lease with Urban Green Newcastle, so it exists to foster creativity and community engagement rather than private profit, an ethos reflected in accessible pricing and a welcoming atmosphere. The programme is deliberately eclectic: life drawing sessions, ceramic classes, basket weaving, horticulture workshops, children's art clubs and a rolling calendar of talks and creative events, with a focus on traditional craft skills, sustainability and hands-on learning.
