Turpentyne Fine Art
Drawing and painting courses plus art supply shop.
About Turpentyne Fine Art
Turpentyne Fine Art teaches drawing and painting from a dedicated Gosforth studio, structured around the belief that everyone is capable of becoming a great artist rather than that creativity is something you are simply born with. Students learn the principles of visual measurement, colour theory and composition, along with how to use a wide variety of materials across a diverse range of subject matter; the teaching is rigorous and structured, building genuine skills with clear progression rather than an aimless express-yourself approach. Weekly classes run for ages 4 to 17, with one-hour lessons for younger students and an hour and a half for older ones, plus adult courses and school holiday workshops for ages 5 to 14. A boutique art supply shop lets students pick up quality materials on site, and there is a further studio in Whitley Bay. All classes must be booked in advance via turpentyne.com; no walk-ins.
