About Whitley Bay Skatepark (Panama Skate Park)

Panama Skate Park is a large concrete skatepark on The Links at Whitley Bay, built in the Panama Dip on the site of the former Panama Cafe and opened in 2008. Covering around 1,000 square metres, it was designed in consultation with local young skaters and roller bladers and constructed by Wheelscape Skateparks. The park features two interconnected bowls, a square bowl with an oververt and a kidney-shaped bowl, together with street elements including a hubba, jersey barrier, wall ride, taco and connecting driveways and walls. It is a free, open-access facility suited to skateboarders, BMX and scooter riders of varying abilities, set on the Whitley Bay seafront.
