Beyond the Moor is Gosforth Civic Theatre's intimate one-day folk festival, and the 2026 edition brings a strong bill to Regent Farm Road across two stages. The headliners are Scottish folk powerhouse Breabach and Manchester's acclaimed The Breath, joined by Will Pound & Jenn Butterworth, kora player Jali Bakary Konteh, the Hearken Quartet and Watersmeet, with emerging talent from the Newcastle University Folk Degree taking the studio stage between the main sets. Doors open at 2.30pm and the music runs through the afternoon and evening until 10pm, staggered across the two spaces so there is always something to catch. Full-price tickets are £55, with a discounted £28 rate for students and under-18s. As an independent, community-led venue founded as a social enterprise, the Civic makes it a warm and welcoming home for a day of live folk on Gosforth's doorstep.
