About Newcastle School for Boys

Newcastle School for Boys is an independent day school in Gosforth, educating pupils from Nursery through to Sixth Form, ages 3 to 18. Founded in 2005, it operates across several campuses in Gosforth, with separate sites for its early years and junior, senior and sixth-form pupils. The school is intentionally small, with small class sizes and a nurturing, inclusive approach, offering academic study alongside co-curricular activities in sport, performing arts and STEM. Its 2022 Independent Schools Inspectorate inspection judged pupils' academic achievement and personal development to be excellent. From September 2026 the school is becoming co-educational and will be renamed The Newcastle School.
