Historic golf club on the Great North Road with a par-72 course designed by Harry Vardon, practice facilities including a driving range with mat and grass options, and a welcoming clubhouse.
About City of Newcastle Golf Club
City of Newcastle Golf Club relocated to its current site at Grange Farm near the Three Mile Bridge in Gosforth in 1907. The course was originally designed by Harry Vardon and significantly enhanced by Alister MacKenzie in 1913 — a remarkable pedigree for a suburban course. The par-72 layout stretches to 6,444 yards. Practice facilities include a driving range with both mat and grass hitting areas, a short game area, and putting greens. Visitors are welcome every day, with green fees around £25 to £40 depending on the day. The clubhouse has an excellent bar, lounge, and restaurant. A proper golf club with genuine heritage and more accessible than many private clubs in the area.
