About South Northumberland Cricket Club
South Northumberland Cricket Club was founded in 1864 as Bulman Village CC and moved to its Roseworth Terrace ground, a short walk from Gosforth High Street, for the 1865 season, taking the South Northumberland name in 1882. It is one of the most successful clubs in the region: a long-standing member of the North East Premier League, which it has won ten times, a three-time winner of the ECB National Club Cricket Championship, most recently in 2016, and a twice winner of the ECB National Club Twenty20. Alongside senior league cricket the club runs a substantial junior programme and is home to the North East Cricket Academy, which offers winter coaching indoors. The ground and clubhouse are available for venue hire and events, and the practice nets can be booked online by members and visiting players. The club also runs a social calendar through the autumn and winter, including its annual fireworks night in November, wreath-making and Christmas events.
